Get Involved
To make the planned City Heights development a reality, we need your support. While the project has officially been approved as part of a comprehensive public-comment portion of our development process, in 2010, there are still several permitting phases that you can help to expedite. We encourage input from the community in support of our plans to build diverse, creative neighborhoods and more than 125 acres of green, open space with a new and improved public-access trail system and a host of outdoor-recreation facilities.
Here’s How:
Write the City
The City of Cle Elum want to hear from you, so please share your thoughts on any of the following project elements with the Planning Department (planning@cityofcleelum.com):
Major improvements to local water, sewer, roads, schools, police, fire and other infrastructure systems
Opening of at least 3 parks, trails, public open space and Outfitter Building with climbing wall, bocce ball, horseshoes and other services
More then $10mm in mitigation fees to the city
Much needed new home product to support inevitable growth in the area
A variety of priced homes including affordable housing
Positive economic impacts, more jobs, bringing critical income to Cle Elum
A $1.795mm lump sum payment to the city, assuming the project proceeds to full build-out
The ongoing litigation Arbitration Order and why the City has wasted time and resources.
Write the paper
The North Kittitas County Tribune is always interested in hearing from you, and here’s your chance to share your thoughts on how City Heights will make positive economic and lifestyle impacts on the area, through its thoughtful development of residential homes and reasonable on-site retail, and the preservation of outdoor-recreation space that has come to define this community. Please submit a short Letter to the Editor and let your voice be heard.
